(About us)

Why We´re Here

Morrow is speeding up the green energy transition with cost-effective and sustainable batteries, starting with our first battery cell factory opening in southern Norway in 2023. A planned gigafactory for battery cell production will produce 43-gigawatt hoursyearly from 2028.

(Join us)

There are solutions to our climate crisis.
Decarbonisation, electrification and sustainable energy systems. But these solutions need to be enabled now - at an industrial scale and unprecedented speed. At Morrow, we are experts from all walks of life. As an industrial scale-up we are shaped by our world-class people from 25+ countries. Join us to help us build a future powered by cost-effective and sustainable batteries.

Sustainability

The world is quickly transitioning away from fossil fuels and towards renewable energy – and batteries are a key enabler. They power electrified transport and facilitate solar and wind installations. A rapid roll-out of renewable energy, at scale, is crucial if we are to avoid devastating temperature increases.

The messages from the world’s top climate scientists are clear: We are moving beyond the safe operating space for humanity. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel (IPCC) recently warned that we are unlikely to stay within the target of a 1.5 degree temperature increase – and we know that going beyond that threshold puts our societies at great risk.

The global battery industry is at a crossroads. The risk of breaches in social or environmental standards in the mining and refining of many battery materials has traditionally been high. At Morrow, we know that our purchasing power can make a difference, and we are prioritising suppliers that can document high social and environmental standards in their operations and that of their sub-suppliers.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are critical to achieving a sustainable global energy transition at speed. By using batteries to store electrical energy, BESS can help us decarbonise our grids and balance the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power.

LFP batteries are gaining popularity in the automotive market due to their cleaner sourcing, low cost, and high cycle life. Their nickel and cobalt-free system makes them an attractive option for electric vehicles.

Commercial vehicles, such as delivery trucks, buses, and heavy-duty construction equipment, require reliable and durable batteries that can withstand heavy usage demands. LFP batteries are the most common choice for these applications, offering a cost-effective, long-lasting solution.

Morrow will deliver tailored battery solutions for the maritime industry’s transition to cleaner energy sources. Our batteries will allow marine vessels to travel further, faster, and safer, cutting 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide in Scandinavian countries alone. We prioritise safety and will offer Li-ion batteries with high power density and C-rates, making them competitive in the market.
